Painter Fiona J. Forbes D.A.

Fiona J. Forbes: Vibrant, colourful and uplifting paintings are Fiona’s speciality. She paints in all media and enjoys outdoor painting in watercolours in summer. She uses a painting knife to create texture with oils and acrylics.

Her inspiration comes from nature and colourful scenery in Britain and Europe. She paints in an impressionistic style, much influenced by Monet and the Scottish Colourists. She enjoyed taking part in Landscape Artist of the Year as a Wildcard in 2021.

She attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art , Dundee, in the 1970’s, followed by another year at Dundee College of Education.

She has spent many years living in different European countries and moved to Wiltshire in 2009.

Wherever she has lived, she’s initiated and taught art classes. She now runs a painting group in Salisbury as well as running workshops and doing demonstrations for local art groups.

This wealth of interacting with different cultures, nationalities and personalities has been a major influence on her art and outlook on life.

Fiona enjoys exhibiting her work and is a member of several local art groups. Some of her paintings are in Fisherton Mill Gallery in Salisbury.
